Originally established as “Cong Ty Giong Cay Trong Phia Nam” in 1976, after restructuring and development, in 2002, the company was equitized and renamed Southern Seed Corporation with an initial charter capital of 60 billion VND. Currently, the charter capital is 150 billion VND.
Southern Seed Corporation specializes in research, production, and trading of various crop seeds and agricultural supplies.
* Main Activities:
- Research, production, trading, import, and export of various crop seeds.
- Production, trading, import, and export of agricultural products and materials.
- Seed testing. Inspection and certification of agricultural seed quality.
* Operational Areas:
The current operational areas include:
- Southeastern provinces, Central Coastal regions, and Central Highlands.
- Cambodia, Laos, and other regions.
Since January 2020, SSC has transferred the market of 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta to Vietnam Rice Company Limited (Vinarice), in which SSC holds 30% of Vinarice’s charter capital.
* Management Model:
Southern Seed Corporation operates under a management model built and organized according to the current Enterprise Law, with key structures including the General Meeting of Shareholders, the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board, and the General Director.
As a public company that was listed on the stock market for a long time, the company strictly adheres to current regulations and guidelines regarding the structure of the Board of Directors and the role of the Supervisory Board.

Average revenue growth: over 10% (exclusive product ratio by 2020 is 45%).
Market share goals:
• Leading the white corn market, increase purebred rice products in Mekong Delta.
